A 'shop front' and a 'workshop'.
I am borrowing this analogy from Brad Frost from this article.
Whatever component library generator that we decide upon they are targeted towards developers.
Should we look at creating a 'shop front' site that consumes the components and allows for a refined design?
Doing so would be a nicer experience for developers and non-developers in the company.
It allows for complete customisation of how we want to show the components, sketch files, guidelines etc to other project teams, new team members, stake holders, directors etc in a bespoke "EMBL-ised" way.
It would also be a 'flagship' selling point of the overall design system.
The USA Web Standards Design System do this with a (Jekyll run) shop front and a (Fractal running) workshop.
