The CBA supports EMBL scientists and visitors in the reproducible extraction of biophysically meaningful measurements from microscopy images of biological samples.
## Acknowledge the CBA's support
## Getting support
CBA support is free of charge for EMBL internal purposes, however if we successfully help you and the work results in a publication please acknowledge us:
Please send an e-mail to [image-analysis-support@embl.de](mailto:image-analysis-support@embl.de) describing in a few sentences what your bioimage analysis project is about.
1. For extensive support with scientific contributions please consider a co-authorship.
2. For smaller contributions please acknowledge us: **We thank the Centre for Bioimage Analysis (ALMF) at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) for support with <XYZ>.**

## Getting support
If you need bioimage analysis support please get in touch with us and we will be happy to help you!
1. For extensive support with scientific contributions please consider a co-authorship.
2. For smaller contributions please acknowledge us: **We thank the Centre for Bioimage Analysis (CBA) at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) for support.**
1. Please **wite a support request** by sending an e-mail to image-analysis-support@embl.de describing in a few sentences what your project is about.
2. Please also already **arrange a consultancy session**:
- Book a consultancy slot in [PPMS](https://ppms.embl.de/planning/?item=273) (every Monday 11:00-12:00 CET
or Thursday 14:15-15:15 CET).
- If you did find a suitable slot please mention this in the above e-mail.
- If there was no time slot that fits your needs, please point this out in the above e-mail and we will try to find another solution.
- For the meeting, please prepare minimal example data and a minimal presentation, following the guidelines below.
- The default is to meet us in person in Room 15-226 in the Imaging Centre, alternatively you can request a virtual [zoom](https://embl-org.zoom.us/j/91827913355?pwd=T0twenE3VStITTRCa3UyUTF6V053dz09) meeting.
## Prepare for a consultancy appointment
    • For image analysis queries and project consultancy, write to CBA team image-analysis-support@embl.de. For urgent consultancy, please mention URGENT in email subject.

That would be all in my opinion. The rest of the stuff about making an appointment, preparing data/presentation can go to separate documents, that can be forwarded to a user in follow-up email replies depending upon the type of his queries.

      • I think there's value in telling people upfront that they need to prepare a few slides and also in telling them to describe the project and the question in the email. By having it on the home page, people know right away what is expected. If nothing else, it would help improve their written communication skills.

      • Maybe we can find some compromise: minimal instructions how to write the e-mail and then follow up with details as appropriate.

"describing in a few sentences what your project is about"

maybe we can make this sentences a bit more detailed; essentially it should be enough information for us to judge what the next step is; which however typically anyway is the arrangement of an in-person session.

Ah, what is very important is whether they already were in contact with other people, such as Aliaksandr for adaptive feedback microscopy, because this would inform us whether to invite other people to the in person meeting.

I think essential is that we get enough information to decide who should be present at the first in person meeting.
